Concept of Senior Citizen Village
THIKANA SHIMLA is a welfare
organization for Senior Citizens, now deals successfully with sheltered
accommodation at Serampore, Hooghly, WB since 6 years. This accommodation is
formed based on club concept. The main features are ‘permanent stay, short
stay, leisure stay, sick stay, treatment assistance, hospice, day out program,
picnic, tour, birthday-marriage anniversary celebration etc.

Senior Citizen Club with Sheltered Accommodation is awarded first
prize in Boston Pledge, USA & BNCCI, Kolkata in 2007. It is also a member
of Varistha Nagarik Mancha under the umbrella of HelpAge India,
Kolkata.
Now we are thinking
seriously to establish A SENIOR CITIZEN VILLAGE. We have ensconced the
dreams in our heart and toiling to give it life. We are searching a place with nature and
loneliness, but having good access to different cities by road, rail and air. Moreover
this place should be nearer to well equipped hospitals. The place likely may be
Ajodhya Hill top, Purulia or Ghatshila or Galudih, Jharkhand or any place in
Chotnagpur plateau.
Let us explain the
concept. The village will contain ownership/rental basis small cottages (with
kitchenette)/rooms, club house with swimming pool, guest house for short stay,
meditation room, library, tennis/badminton lawn, auditorium, community hall,
general kitchen, emergency medical room with clinic, general store, gerontology
research institute, projects for destitute elders of that locality etc. Non-ambulatory
sick elder patients, mentally challenged elders, dementia patients, and dying
patients may stay for short period or permanently on deposit basis/monthly
payment basis. Services likely, 24hrs. room service, 24 hrs. food from general
kitchen, laundry service, medical assistance with ambulance, physiotherapy
assistance, banking assistance etc. will be available. Boarders will get scope
to serve society through our different projects for destitute elders.
This is a completely non-commercial
project. We have had already an experience. One advisory board containing
of eminent professors, doctors, engineers, social activists who have already a reputation
and transparency in their respective fields will watch us on our activities.
The cost of cottage/ rooms will be considered on no-profit-no-loss basis, which
will be collected in installment from the selected candidates. The owners will
automatically be the members of our organization.
You may sell your
property to any elders, or we can help you by finding appropriate person. Your
ancestor or nominee can get your property if he is a senior citizen. Otherwise
it will be sold out to another elder and nominee will get the money on that
day’s rate (price of real estate always increases).

Wish Fulfillment Program

Another
non-commercial program is wish fulfillment of elder dying patients, terminally
ill patients. If he/ she wants to go anywhere, likely to pilgrim, or relatives’
place (in India only), we will assist him/ her with ambulance, paramedic
staffs, caregivers, emergency resuscitation apparatus etc. CONTACT US.
